Since the introduction of 60g base paper around 2013, 50g medium paper has now become the industry standard. This push for lightweight materials is accelerating, and the market shows no signs of slowing down in its pursuit of even lower grammage paper.

However, low-grammage paper not only demands higher precision in web tension control on corrugated board production lines, but also poses new challenges to the stability and splicing success rate of splicers during high-speed operations. Currently, when faced with increasingly demanding base paper, traditional splicing solutions are proving inadequate.

To overcome the low tear resistance of lightweight base paper and the frequent web breaks during production, Fengyuan Group proactively anticipated industry trends. Drawing on years of expertise, we boldly innovated and developed a world-first algorithmic control solution: the 'Dancer Roll + Dual PID' algorithm. Powered by this technology, constant web tension is guaranteed throughout all phases, including acceleration, deceleration, and splicing.

Furthermore, driven by customer needs and focused on industry trends, Fengyuan Group has developed a Dual-Closed-Loop Splicer Control System. Returning to the essence of the production line, this system pre-sets the web tension based on the tensile strength of each specific base paper. It also makes automatic adjustments according to the running roll's real-time data to prevent severe tension fluctuations.

The system features a Dual-Closed-Loop (Triple-Feedback) control architecture: it uses German SICK laser sensors for advance web diameter measurement, Fasto brakes, and Siemens servo-controlled proportional valves, damping rolls, and drive rolls. This precise setup ensures that the new paper roll accelerates accurately and rapidly to match the current production line speed.

Drawing on Fengyuan Group's years of process expertise and integrated with Siemens' comprehensive industrial control system, our core R&D team of dozens of engineers spent two years meticulously refining a brand-new, mature product: the Fengyuan Dual-Head Servo Automatic Splicer – Innovation Series FY-SP Innov 350-I/350-II.

This breakthrough reduces the splicing response time to approximately 1 second, achieving a splicing success rate of over 99.8%. The system can automatically receive material codes from the production management system and set the tension accordingly. Operators only need to prepare the paper rolls, requiring no further manual intervention.
